“Vultus est animi index” The face is the mirror of the soul – Cicero (Marcus Tullius Cicero). The face is an extremely important and undoubtedly the most individual part of the human body, playing the most essential role in verbal and non-verbal communication, while also serving as a kind of individual personal calling card. Today, facial appearance has become even more important than ever.

The aim of the prepared conference series “Two Faces of Medicine” is to exchange knowledge and experience in this crucial field of craniofacial deformities, injuries and diseases. This is particularly important given the situation during the war in Ukraine. We are creating this initiative to support doctors from Poland, Ukraine and countries neighboring the war zone in treating trauma patients, as well as planned craniofacial procedures. Since the lectures will be translated into English and Ukrainian and made available online, we are convinced they will become a source of useful knowledge not only for medical colleagues from Poland and Ukraine but also from other countries. Remote participation will require a donation to charity of a specified amount, which will be transferred by decision of the organizing committee to aid organizations. The selection of lecturers, topics and scope of presented lectures should interest particularly specialist doctors in surgery, oncological surgery, laryngology, maxillofacial surgery, reconstructive and plastic surgery, as well as dermatologists, ophthalmologists, traumatologists and doctors of other specialties. A two-day conference cannot exhaust such a broad topic, hence our intention is to organize subsequent editions.

The conference is supported by, among others, the Supreme Medical Chamber, the University of Rzeszów, the Rzeszów City Hall and foreign partners.
